Electronics & Prototyping
Elite Mechatronics provides electronics design and rapid prototyping services to support industrial automation projects and early-stage product development.
We specialise in practical, buildable solutions — from PCB design and embedded firmware through to functional prototypes and 3D printed enclosures — with a strong focus on industrial reliability and real-world use.
Electronics and PCB design
We design printed circuit boards for industrial and prototype applications, supporting proof-of-concept builds through to small production-ready designs.
PCB design scope includes:
- Schematic capture and PCB layout using KiCad
- Up to 4-layer PCB designs
- Design for manufacturability and assembly
- Generation of fabrication and assembly files (Gerbers, drill, BOM)
- Liaison with PCB fabrication houses where required
Designs are developed with electrical robustness, serviceability and long-term maintainability in mind.
Embedded firmware and prototyping
Where required, Elite Mechatronics provides embedded firmware development as part of the prototyping process.
Typical applications include:
- Sensor interfaces and data acquisition
- Control and monitoring devices
- Proof-of-concept embedded systems
- Test rigs and internal tooling
Firmware development is aligned with the intended deployment environment, whether the prototype is destined for further product development or internal industrial use.
Prototype assembly and validation
We support hands-on prototype assembly and validation to rapidly de-risk designs.
Assembly and test support includes:
- Prototype hand-assembly and bring-up
- Functional testing and validation
- Iteration support during early development
- Coordination of external assembly where appropriate
This approach allows design issues to be identified and resolved early, before committing to larger production runs.
3D printing and mechanical prototyping
Elite Mechatronics provides FDM 3D printing to support rapid mechanical prototyping and integration.
3D printing capabilities include:
- FDM printing with standard and engineering-grade filaments
- Build volume up to approximately 255 mm x 255 mm x 255 mm
- Enclosures, brackets, fixtures and test jigs
- Mechanical fit checks and iteration support
3D printed components are typically used to validate form, fit and function alongside electronic prototypes.
Who this service is for
Electronics and prototyping services are suited to:
- Industrial teams developing internal tools, sensors or test equipment
- Automation projects requiring custom electronics
- Startups and product developers needing practical proof-of-concept builds
- Engineers requiring rapid iteration before production handover
Our background in industrial automation ensures prototypes are grounded in operational reality, not just laboratory conditions.
Engagement model
Support can be provided as:
- Standalone electronics and prototyping work
- Part of a larger automation or control system project
- Short-term design and proof-of-concept engagement
- Ongoing support during iterative development
All work is delivered with clear documentation and handover artefacts.
